The Grand Arena
The Grand Arena is located in Maplebrook and provides entertainment for the masses, commoners, nobles, and travelers alike all stop by to witness for themselves just how grand the Grand Arena is. Although the Arena is a bloody and violent event, it's practices are allowed. The arena is one of the few binding forces in the town that gives most everyone something to talk about.
Many people enjoy the arena for one or more of the following reasons.
1. Violence
2. The people like the more popular gladiators
3. Penal system -Wrongdoers who are sentenced to death are given the option of turning Gladiator and maybe winning their freedom, if they survive several matches...
4. Trappers - They bring in some weird monsters that have been found in outlying areas and sell them to the Arena for use in combat.
5. Gambling
Reasons to become a Gladiator
1. You can earn gold, legitimately.
2. Win or Lose, you still gain experience.
3. Grand Arena Coins are awarded to the winner(s) which can be traded for special Grand Arena Merchandise
4. Fame/Reputation - Sometimes things become a lot easier when you are a very recognized figure of the town for your combat expertise.
