Formally, "Guild of Thieves, Cutpurses, and Allied Trades."
Headed by Lace, Queen of the Gypsies.
- Lieutenants are Dwella Browncoat and Burthar Manyfingers.
While initially the main money-making venture of Thieves' Guild members remained theft, more recent books show a system of "insurance", whereby people may pay a fee directly to the Guild and therefore become immune to robbery for a specified period. Other activities of the Guild include human trafficking, illicit drugs and poisons, forgeries, and disguises.
Anyone caught by the town's guards performing any of the above activities is imprisoned. On more than one occasion, however, those imprisoned end up dead due to the Underground having a strict never-caught clause (in the case of members) and not-without-our-permission clause (in the case of non-members). Scoundrels entering Maplebrook should endeavour to locate the Underground (a rather daunting task in itself) and gain membership.
