Chapter 20. Retreat!

The surprise attack did not go as well as expected. The Yakka turned out to be well prepared for an attack, and though the party inflicted heavy damage, in the end they were forced to retreat. They managed to claim two of the shaman's trinkets, and no casualties were suffered, but by the time of their retreat Aiden and Dorina were gravely injured, and the rest were bloodied and exhausted. The group made their retreat back to Silva Domus, giving up on attacking the Yakka for the time being.

Returning to the city, they were asked to meet with the Alchemist. After taking a rest and recovering from the fight, they met with him and discussed the matter of the strange creatures the group had encountered. The Alchemist revealed that while they were resting, Silva Domus itself was attacked by the creatures. The Alchemist told the adventurers that he was studying them, and working on a way to destroy them, but that he needed more samples (preferably living ones). The team agreed to help, setting out to where they had met the creatures.

After a bit of searching, the group discovered a tunnel, leading down into the darkness...
