Chapter 23. Into the Underground Tunnel

The group continued on their way, leaving the fleeing sea devils behind. Light started filtering down from the ceiling, and the group started surfacing. Before reaching the surface, though, the vehicles began shuddering, as if something had broken. A quick check with the DragonStar system revealed that the vehicles were quickly loosing power. Thinking fast, and realizing how close they were to the surface, the group decided to abandon the crafts and swim to the surface. Salvaging what they could, they blew the hatches and swam upwards, surfacing just before running out of air.

Breaking the surface, the group quickly realized they were no longer in the Feywild. The sky seemed duller, and what they could make of the land seemed to be swampy and covered in a greenish mist. In the distance, the walls of a city could be seen, and even farther out mountains rose in the distance. After recovering from the swim, the group set out for the city, seeking a dry place away from the swamp. Along the way, the group encountered an Oni, and a group of Ogres, but after a short fight they were able to continue on, and soon reached the city of Burden's Peak...
