Gertrude

Pet Peeves: Leaky faucets, desecration, corpse hoarders, babies.

Devoted cleric and faithful servant of Wee Jas in life and after, Gertrude has served at The Scarlet Monastery for over two decades. She harbors a fondness for candy canes outmatched only by her love for the Stern Lady, daggers, and the dead.

More often than not, she can be found cheerfully digging in the graveyard with a pack of candy canes and cake. The Scarlet Monastery’s library houses “Searching For The Lost Bone ” a collection of her religions insights including “The Lesson of the Candy Cane.” Excerpt:

“Consider the red stripes one’s contribution while living—the blood, sweat, and tears shed for the Ruby Sorceress and the white stripes the continued servitude of your bones. Apart there is only brittle sugar, but together, united they form a shepard’s crook. Become the crook, let the Goddess use you to maintain order in a chaotic flock.”

Some of the followers have adopted the ‘death crook’—a heavy red and white striped crook, ending in many small poison tipped spikes. The tasty pastry version of the death crook and the minty perfume ‘Scarlet Service’ can only be found in Aspenwood.
