Campaign Chronicles-18-Welcome to Silva Domus
Arriving at the guard post, the group was again halted by the guards. Dorina introduced the rest of the party, and Aurora vouched for them, stating they had saved her life. However, the sight of Aiden made the guards suspicious, and they told the party to wait while the leader of the town was summoned. While the party waited and talked with the guards, the leader of Silva Domus made her way down the lift to the forest floor. The ruler, Shay, quickly, efficiently, and rather rudely questioned each of the party members, determining why they were here. The adventurers also questioned Shay about their location, eventually learning they were in the Feywild, land of the Eldrarin. Shay also discussed the nature of the Boks who had attacked the adventurers, advising them that there were four tribes of Bok- the Gurunsi, a tribe of friendly farmers, the Makonde and Bobo tribes, who remained neutral and weren't particularly friendly or hostile, and the dangerous Yaka tribe, who were more than likely responsible for the ambush. Of the Nintar Vale, or the town of Winterhaven, Shay held no knowledge, having never heard of the locations, or knowing the way to reach them. After talking more with the group, Shay determined that the adventurers meant no harm, and allowed them into the tree city of Silva Domus.
Since it was late in the night, most of the group headed to the Redwood Inn to retire. However, grateful to be alive and to have arrived safely in a friendly town, Sabi went to the town temple, where she spent a few hours alone with Ibas, praying to Melora. After the second hour the praying Dragonborn recieved an answer from Melora- a short message indicating a gift for Sabi when the sun rose the next morning, and hinting at a an ancient Dragonborn temple lost in the wilderness and unknown to the inhabitants of the forest. Though tired from the long night, and not understanding or clearly remembering most of the message, Sabi thanked Melora and headed to the Redwood Inn for a rest.
Arriving at the inn, she found that the rest of the party had settled in- Ogmog, Ortus, Dorina and Bastius had found beds inside the inn, while Aiden was locked outside after disturbing the sleep of the others. Being admitted into the inn by Dorina, Sabi settled into a private area of the inn for a few hours of sleep. However, shortly before the sun rose, Ibas woke her, poking her until she rose. The young spiretop drake took off, and Sabi chased after, following him through the treetop city and a short distance into the wilderness. Eventually Sabi followed Ibas into a small clearing, where a Halfling with several animals waited. Ibas settled into a ring of mushrooms, and when the sun finally rose and the first rays struck him, the baby drake grew in size, soon reaching the size of a medium dog. The spiretop drake seemed to gain abilities during his transformation- being able to speak to Sabi in the form of pictures, as well as seeming to understand certain concepts, such as fetching and delivering messages.
Once the transformation was finished, the Halfling introduced himself to Sabi as Marshall, a resident of the town and fellow devotee to Melora. He had come here and waited for Sabi and Ibas, and stated he was a trainer of animals. Bewildered by the sudden changes, and still quite tired from the early hour, Sabi thanked the Halfling but soon returned to the Redwood Inn to continue resting, stating she would find him later in the day.
Upon arriving back at the Redwood Inn, Sabi sleepily told Dorina of what had happened, though in her drowsy state there were some inaccuracies in the details. While Sabi retired to her hammock, Dorina, excited at the news that other Halflings were around, went to the guard and sought directions to the Halfling's home. Setting out, she soon came to the Tosscobble house, and met Tella- a middle aged Halfling female- and her husband, Quillan. Tella was quite happy to talk with Dorina, and though she had no knowledge of the symbol Dorina questioned her about, she revealed several facts about herself, mentioning she had three children (a girl Tavi, and two sons named Dugal and Cottington), as well as the adopted Marshall. Quillan promised to look into the symbol, stating it seemed vaguely familiar to him. The Halflings talked for some time, before Dorina finally excused herself and returned to the Redwood Inn. The adventurers were all well rested by this time, and together explored the city of Silva Domus, replenishing lost ammo and repairing damaged weapons at the market. After a time, Sabi and Dorina brought the party back to the Tosscobble house, where they talked, and ate, and talked, with Tella. After questioning Quillan further on Marshall (who had not yet returned home) and on local Dragonborn temples, the group excused themselves, and returned to exploring the city.
