After receiving messages from Dwerander, our team of adventurers joined together at the Adventurer's Guild of Sparrowdale for a lunch with the mayor (Dwerander), his assistant (Vihid), and the captain of the guard (Torwar Silverstalker). During the generous meal, the team were asked to join the Adventurer's Guild and given a list of jobs the citizens of Sparrowdale requested help with, ranging from a missing possession, to a lost adventurer, to rumors of a serial killer. Thanking their hosts, the team agreed to think the offer over, and retired for the night at the Heart of the Adventurer Inn. After checking into their rooms and settling in, the adventurers unwound in their own ways for the night. While Alderick explored the city with his feline companion, and Shamil and Syrin meditated in his room, Spikeblood and Astronom went to the bar for a round of drinks. The manager of the inn, Felix, offered each a 'special' brew, and while Spikeblood enjoyed the drink, Astronom passed out from the strength of the drink, and was deposited in the stables by the friendly wait staff. Returning from his explorations, Alderick stumbled upon the unconscious dwarf, and revived him by dunking him in the water trough. After guiding the drunken dwarf to his room, the sorcerer decided to try the drink for himself, and also enjoyed it. The druid also enjoyed Felix's dragon brew (though his bat became quite drunk from it). Alderick spent the rest of the night conversing with other patrons of the inn, such as the cleric Vorian and the inn's singer, Roxanne, then joined the rest of the team and retired to his room for the night, with the exception of Spikeblood and Astronom, who slept on the outskirts of town.

The next day, the team awoke to a breakfast provided at the inn (including wonderful pancakes!). and Syrin and Astronom discussed the jobs given them by the adventurers guild, trying to decide which to take first. However, before they reached a decision, Spikeblood arrived with news of a framed half-elf, scheduled to hang later that very day. Though confused by the barbarian's report, the team decided to investigate, setting aside the Adventurer's Guild requests for the time being. Heading for the town jail, the group arrived and interrogated the captive half-elf. Arren, a small-time thief, claimed he had been framed for the theft of a golden statue from the noble Olain Spellcheek. Though most of the group seemed to believe him, they continued to question Arren on the details of the crime, eventually gaining the name of Minlana Jewelfrost, a Thieve's Guild member who may have more information. Satisfied with this information, most of the team left, leaving behind only Alderick and Shamil, who stayed to negotiate a potential reward. After securing a price from the desperate half-elf, the two also left, though not before Arren gave one last message to the team's own rogue, unspoken to anyone else.

Investigating the supposed theft, the team set out to find Olain Spellcheek to question him on the theft, only to find that he had been slain recently by an unknown serial killer. A 'discreet' investigation of his house revealed the stolen statue, and while the statue was golden (and thus valuable) there were no magical properties to separate it from the rest of Olain's collection of valuables. After searching through the rest of the house, the team discovered the gruesome results of Olain's murder- a bed soaked through and through with blood.
